Saw a couple of interesting things from day 3 highlights: primarily Djokovic bombing out... Again. To Arnaldi. Am I the only one who thinks Djokovic isn't going to come back this time? Seriously, I think his chances now of a slam are nearly gone. He might still be making semis or quarters but I can't see it with the fitness and deterioration over time. Secondly, comesana took out fils! I'd actually never seen comesana before and was super impressed. He just didn't give up. That being said, fils played awfully, which is also not something I think we frequently see from fils, especially considering his form at the moment. Thirdly, Zverev looked really really good against RBA, who's not a bad player. I think it was like 62 62? Fourth, Fonseca went down to Paul this morning!!! Not a huge surprise on paper but I'm sure a huge surprise for you and all of your followers Hugh. It was a very close match, but still, surprised to see Fonseca out so early. Looking forward to see what you make of this if you're back later in the tournament!
Awesome stuff. Thank you Hugh. There's a real shortage of good tennis podcasts. If you want to keep doing this and happen to live in Melbourne I will personally buy you a podcasting mic and/or drink!
Thank you so much for the podcast!!! Although I do understand that it would be difficult when not doing a draw preview... maybe a bit of both is the best? Thank you again, so good for me
Hugh, are you as impressed by the young American player, Ethan Quinn, as I am? He appears to have all the tools to move up the ranks, and hits with consistent power.
Yeah he has the weapons for sure, and I think we will see him in the top 40/50 sooner rather than later. I haven't watched a lot of him, but I've seen 3 or 4 matches now where I've been impressed with the weapons
I would not be surprised at all either if Fonseca goes deep here. In fact, I would not be surprised if he won this thing. He plays number 10 Tommy Paul in the 2nd round match of the day, and he is the betting favorite, a solid favorite with an implied probability of winning at 66%. He is certainly not sneaking up on anybody.

I think Djoker's last chance is Wimbledon. RG I don't think he has the fitness.

Will keep that in mind!
Yeah I second that, although I'm definitely not old enough to buy that drink.

No worries mate :)
Love it, thanks Hugh!
